AMZN – Amazon.com Inc.
Amazon.com (8/25/15) Short-term (Positive) : Intermediate Term (Positive) : Long-term (Positive) Amazon.com has been one of the better performing stocks in this sector. Strong Q1 earnings produced a gap in late April. That gap is now below its 200-day moving average at 656, requiring a more critical break if it were to be filled at 626.80. At this point, 600 to 626 should be considered significant long-term support. The "V" shaped base would yield a long-term upside potential to 898. Intermediate-term, the trend remains up with the base offering support at 686. For the moment, short-term resistance is at 785 and rising. The 50-day moving average at 742 is probably less important than the uptrend line at 723, which is the May peak. A divergence in the momentum indicator, the MACD, persists, although it remains above the zero line. If, as we may see in the market and sector as a whole, a pullback phase ensues in September, we would expect to see this support tested. Amazon remains a major influence on the sector as a whole and the top stock to watch for the bullish story to remain intact.
